Cant Upgrade Parallels :( Please Help

I am running 1970 and when I try to go to help check for upgrades it just hangs up and doesnt do anything.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I can give you a direct link if you let me know what build you are going to download. Is it 5584?

"Check for updates" gets overloaded sometimes so we provide direct links here on the forum.

I would like the latest version.

Do I click that link and it updates or is this a new copy? I dont want to put a new copy since it is a pain to re instal windows.

Luigi, here is the build 5584. You click it and it updates. You will not have to reinstall Windows and you will be able to use your old VM.

Does this allow you to move files back and forth just click and drag? Or do I still need to have shared folders?

Ok installed thought everything was ok then got this error when I tried to run my vm



Parallels Desktop is unable to operate properly since it cannot communicate with one of its drivers. Seems that drivers are inconsistent with the currently installed version of Parallels Desktop. To overcome this issue, reinstall Parallels Desktop and start it by selecting Finder->Applications->Parallels->Parallels.

EDIT: It seemed it installed a new copy but moved my windows over to it. Can I uninstall the old version at this point?

Please sorry for the delay.
You should uninstall the old version using the .dmg utility before installing the new one.
Is everything OK now?
