Launched XP VM today and all My Firefox favorits were gone and its prefs has been reset to default.

Then in GoLive, it was like a first Launch, asking for passwords and all my customizations gone.

    whats the deal?

Also, why does Parallels randomly Install Parallels Tools??? at XP launch!

I've resorted to a backup VM twice now. I've had AutoCAD become unstable, and I've attributed it to a registry problem. But, it essentially has lost an internal path to support files, one of the optional settings that the user defines. Since it is so easy to retrieve a backup, I've really not tried to solve the problem - it may be a Windows thing anyway.

It just happened again, I launched Firefox and it was like a first launch. All bookmarks gone, settings at default.

I have 5 real windows computers here and have never seen this so I will be bold and say its got to be strictly a Parallels thing, anythings possible but this ones new on me.

Just surprised no others have had it happen.

reason its worrisome id I was hoping to use the VM as my Windows on Mac accounting programs and data is critical, sure I can back up and restore, but if this keeps up and is not resolved it would be too much trouble and not enough peace of mind.

If the Parallels team has any answers it would really be great.

It happens to me, too...every time I start Firefox or Thunderbird, it tells me it's not the default. Kind of annoying.

I think it has something to do with the way the VM shuts down, I read online that this one guy was losing setting when his laptop battery would die....seems like the VM might be causing a similar behavior
