After 3.0 working perfectly for months, I cannot access any of my Windows data from either the VM or through Boot Camp. I am getting the "Enable Virtual Memory Allocation" error trying to run the VM and the "<windows root>\systems32.hal.dll" error when trying to use Boot Camp. This is really pissing me off! Just to add insult to injury, I can't find my Admin PW to run the repair mode through Boot Camp...so am I truly screwed? I sure would appreciate some help from a Parallels admin here. I have a major presentation tomorrow and the key files I need are on the Windows XP side... Thanks in advance for any assistance.
I got the same message when it was trying to convert my Boot Camp for PD v.4. It made it so it was unbootable even without Parallels. I decided to create a new Virtual Machine on the hard drive and now I am stuck in an Activation loop with Windows.
Please try using the article "The error message 'HAL.DLL file is missing or corrupted' appears during Windows Guest OS boot" to fix the issue: http://kb.parallels.com/en/4867
