Hi, I am running Win8 in a Parallels 9 VM unter Mavericks on a Macbook Retina. Everthing looks nice so far but I notice some exceptions: cmd.exe windows are tiny some rare windows programs do not seem to scale and produce tiny text and tiny icons. Barely usable Is there any suggestion for this? Kind regards, JP
Hi JP, on my retina-MBP with Mavericks and Parallels 9 the problem is the same. I use Win 7 as a virtual machine. Office 2010 apps look fine, but under Photoshop CS 6 the icons are much too small, opened menus look normal. Configuring a non-Retina resolution leads to bigger icons, but also much too big menus ... Any suggestions? Thanks for your help. Cheers Christoph
It's not really Parallels' fault. Windows 7 & 8 are HORRIBLE at DPI scaling. I was trying the new yoga retina tablet running purely windows 8 and half the items looked tiny the other half were too big. Only thing you can do until MS figures out that retina screens are not a fad is turn on scaling and deal with the blurryness for a while.
