How do you force quit windows when it has frozen ? I have re started Parallels twice which is not recommended. I am supposed to shut down properly via windows but what so you do when windows freezes ?

i'm not really sure I understand your question. Do you mean Windows crashes every time you start up ? Or are you saying that it crashes every time you shutdown and you have to force quit parallels each time ?

thanks so much for responding darkone as I'm stuck. I have been working in an application and when I tried to hit submit within that app windows just froze. I can see the green start key , bottom right but i don't know the windows hot keys like Apple's to Force Quit. So I just quit Parallels twice but I still have the same frozen screen in windows. Ihave been reading all the posts about XP & Parallels being unstable so I hope this is not the beginning of a lot of problems.

ahh i think when you are killing parallels its suspending your virtual machine so next time you start up, it goes right back to where it was. Start up your vm again. If its still in a crashes state, click Actions > reset in the Parallels menu. This should reset the virtual machine.

Phew...thanks darkone at least I am back to "normal" again. So what is the best way to deal with windows freezing? BTW I "just" had enough time to seaerch the internet & found the hot keys CTRL+ALT+DELETE when you guessed it, windows crashed AGAIN . I had only saved the text from the net (a few lines) into my documents and it froze. I have had to quit parallels again. This is terribly unstable. I hope things improve . I have both operating systems updated .
