I use a jump drive to transfer data back and forth between windows boxes. However, while I can create a briefcase on the Jump Drive in the Windows XP VM, it turns to a regular folder. Likewise, the briefcases I created on the jump drive on the XP box, also are treated as normal folders. I can create/update on the VM for local/network drives with no problems.

Is this a known bug or am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks in advance.

How are you accessing the jump drive from the VM? Are you connecting it as a USB device attached to the virtual machine or attached to the Mac? You should try attaching it to the virtual machine.

    Jump Drive connection

When I inserted it into the USB port, it showed up both in VM XP Explorer, and Finder. When I selected connect to VM, it disappeared from both. I disconnected, and connected to Mac. It now shows up in both. Now, being before I started this thread. I thought it was odd that it was there, but disappeared from both upon selecting the VM.

Solved it. Yellow in Device manager on unknown PCI device. Uninstalled. Restarted. All is well. Use VM connection. Briefcases are fine. Oddly enough, my ancient 128MB (yes, 128MB, that I paid $59 for) drive worked prior to this. Now, all is well.
