I recently got a new iMac and installed the trial version of 4560. (I have it on 3 other machines). I used the express install of Windows XP and now I cannot stop the VM from automatically logging into the Administrator account. I've password protected the Administrator account as well as created other accounts, but 4560 insists on autologging into XP. This is REALLY annoying as the admin account should not even show up once other accounts are created. I've used the admin account to turn off autologin, but this doesn't seem to stop it from happening. I've never seen this before in hundreds of WinXP installs. Actually, I'd delete the Administrator account but I can't because the other Administrator account doesn't even know it exists. Now in order to login to one of my other accounts I first have to let the machine login to the Administrator account, then log out, and THEN it will let me go to one of the other accounts.

How the heck do you turn this off under these circumstances. I'd rather not reinstall if I can avoid it. What file needs to be tweaked or what registry setting needs to be set to stop this from happening. I've never seen it happen before.

FWIW, I have a volume license of Windows XP that allows unlimited machine installs.

    Thanks.

Go to the Start Menu, select "Run...", type "control userpasswords2" and hit return. Check "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" and click "OK". You will need to create a password for your Administrator account (in Control Panels > User Accounts) if you have not already done so.

Thanks. That did the trick. I can't figure out why that panel isn't available directly from the user accounts panel within control panel. It is on "pure" Windows installations. Guess I shoulda kept those Windows manuals I jettisoned when I moved about a year ago. Probably would have found this there.
