Hi, I'm a new registrant to the forums. Just a couple of observations I've made about Vista that might save someone time: 1. Don't install MacAfee antivirus...version 8.0 breaks Vista according to NAI (8.5 beta may work, I've read). I've seen a couple of earlier threads about 'my Parallels Vista install used to work, now it hangs on boot up...' I had exactly this problem every time I installed MacAfee (Enterprise version), before I read the notes on the NAI site. Make sure your installed software is compatible. 2. Here's a reference on valid antivirus for Vista: http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=503404&SiteID=17 (I signed up for the 120 day free trial of Windows Live OneCare FWIW). They might have a list of other compatible software somewhere on that site, like Apple did with Mac OS X 10.0 and beta. However, I haven't looked specifically. 3. Bug Report: Build 3120 has a small display bug (at least in my machine) with a VIsta virtual machine. When I transition to Coherence view (using the "slide to the right" animation), there is a square screen artifact left behind. The artifact corresponds to the previous location of the Vista "Orb" (the round version of the old Start button), the location it occupied before the Orb and task bar "relocates" to the bottom of my screen as part of the transition. My system is a MacBook Pro 15 2.0 GHz, 2 GB, Parallels 3120 with a bone-stock, fresh MS Windows Vista Business install, plus Parallels tools 3120 and exactly one additional install, the Windows Live OneCare as above.
