An old problem with a previous Windows Update appears to be coming back with KB929338, an update that "prevents some Stop 0x1a or Stop 0x0a errors." I operate my Boot Camp partition through Parallels and Boot Camp. Whenever I switch from one to the other, Microsoft Update consistently tells me I need to download and install that high-priority update anew. Is anyone else seeing this?
Yes which prompted me to search the forums and find your post. I am also seeing this for Security Update KB890859. Since this is a security update I am doubly concerned. I am a licensed owner running the latest version of desktop for Mac. I am booting from my bootcamp partition though I haven't booted using boot camp in a long time. Can someone officially comment on this issue since its affecting security updates now!?
http://forums.vnunet.com/thread.jspa?threadID=105455&tstart=0 Its a known windows issue.....not directly a parallels one.
I appreciate the information. I assumed it was related to parallels because I haven't seen this on any of the other 100 windows XP systems I manage at work just my Parallels install. Thanks!
More information on this can be found in this thread: http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?p=57552
It seems as if the bug has only hit certain hardware configs... Your work computers are probably pretty uniform machines...
Yeah, it's only a bug on hardware configs that use Parallels. That is the difference. If you don't use Parallels, it isn't a problem.
Hello, We are aware of problem with these updates in current version of Parallels Desktop. Next release should solve this issue. Best regards, Mike
