i was booting a bootcamp install with parallels(3170) and everything has bee fine up til now. i ran XP earlier but was done with it so i shut down and quit parallels after xp shutdown. i need to test something out so i booted up xp and it now tells me that it can't locate shell32.dll and won't boot up. i tried booting in safe mode only to get the same error. i then hooked up my wired keyboard and mouse and booted off the xp install cd. once i get to the screen to repair windows it askes to hit "r" or "enter" to continue but it stops recognizing the keyboard.

so now i'm stuck, i can't boot into windows because it can't find shell32.dll and i can't repair windows because my wired keyboard magically stops working every single time i get to the screen where it asks me to hit enter.

    any with any suggestions?

Try to use other keyboard if you have such ability.
Or load from Windows loading disk and choose the current windows partition and you see windows offer to replace or recovery partition.

i'm going to try another keyboard tonight but the keyboard works fine up until the screen comes up asking me to repair windows. when i boot off the windows CD it asks me to hit enter to boot off the CD, i do and it does.... but like i said, it doesn't respond to the keyboard after the cd boots up.

by loading from the windows loading disk do you mean the install CD? that's what i've been trying to do.
