I have an issue when logging in to Windows. I have an administrator user account, let's call it "Me" that I login to.

Windows starts, but just at the point where you would expect the login dialog entry boxes to show it hangs for about 10 minutes or so. It will eventually get there, but obviously this is too long to have to wait. And everything runs fine after login.

I have noticed a quick flash of a login screen that says "Windows could not log you in, etc" and then it disappears. It shows administrator as the user. It is to fast to grab a screen shot of. I think this is the culprit. It is almost as if there is a duplicate vm somewhere that is attempting to start. But I don't see this instance after the vm I am expecting to use boots into windows. I only have one vm installed.

I have also checked my user accounts in Windows and the "Me" administrator account is the only user listed other than the standard guest account which is not active.

Is there a preference file somewhere that I can toss? Any one have any ideas?

    Thank you,

    Dave

I was able to grab screen shots:

This one comes up after 15 minutes of waiting for windows to start. This is not the user I am expecting and once I dismiss it by clicking on the OK button, the user login that I do expect comes up immediately (2nd image) and I am able to proceed with using Windows XP.

The one thing I noticed, that may mean nothing, is that the first one says XP Professional and the second one just shows XP.
