Windows Home Server is built on the Windows Server 2003 SP2 base and although I don't have any info currently on any internal tests for it in VM, I suppose it might work. Have you tried running it in VM?
I've notified our Engineering team on this issue, they will work on adding Windows Home Server support to the next versions on our software.
