When open Parallels, all seems normal until Windows starts to boot up. I get the initial boot up screen and then it immediately turns black. From there, nothing. How do I boot it up in safe mode through Parallels? I've tried to click the screen and hold down F8 but nothing. I've tried the send key function but not sure if I'm doing it properly. I think windows may be crashing but don't know.

    Any thoughts?

It seems to me that Windows is either crashing, or somehow problem is with HDD,
If you paste here Configure - Hard Disk 1 , and hard disk 1 contents in FInder
probably it will be easier to suggest something

I know enough about computers to be scary. Where do I go to get this info for you?

I think this is what you were looking for.
