    Hi All,

I have a virtualized copy of Windows 95 up and running in Parallels 8 for Mac but cannot get the audio to work. I have downloaded and installed the AC97 driver for Windows 95 successfully. The speaker icon shows activity when I play a sound but it is not played through the speakers on the host machine. The host is a MacBook Pro w/retina.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

This is exciting as it's the closest I've come to having this VM image up and running - the only thing left is getting the audio to work. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have experienced exactly the same issue with parallels workstation 6 for windows.Everything runs fine, even network, except the sound.ac97 driver for windows 95 is installed, speaker icon shows activity but no sound is coming out of the speakers. This seems to be a common issue for parallels workstation and desktop! Please advise!

I have the exact same problem with Windows 98. I installed the avance ac97 sound driver which the system seems to recognize finely, but no sound is transmitted to my mac's speakers. The speaker icon in the bottom bar of the VM shows the sound, but there is none.
