hi all, I recently installed the updates that were made available for Windows 8. After that, some Windows Store Apps (Metro) cause the screen to flicker. I am developing an app for Windows 8 and i can't really use it/debug it. I tried few things but nothing worked. I just uninstalled the Parallels Tools display driver and started using the Microsoft-provided default adapter driver. The flickering has gone but, of course, the performance is not great. Are there are any updates for the drivers I could try? Happy to install beta drivers if necessary. Thank you, .savas.
Hi All, I also have the same problem now, started happening about a week ago, have done nothing to the Parallels Configuration, I am using 2012 MacBook Pro Retina 2.7ghz with NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M and the Intel HD Graphics 4000 and 16GB Ram, I have assigned 4 CPUs, 8GB Ram, 512mb Video Ram to Parallels Virtual Machine, and now no matter what I am using in full screen mode, ANY fading transition between windows has the horrible flicker ! My Windows 8 is setup to auto update so not sure if there has been something put on there, but when I check the history certainly nothing related to the Graphics drivers have been installed. Have not tried un-installing Parallels Tools Display Driver as yet, but wondered if Parallels are aware of the problem ? Kind Regards KJ
Hi All, Just had a support call with Parallels, They are aware of the problem and are investigating the issues, because I am a developer I have my Parallels Video configuration set to 'More Space', Then I get the flickering problem on the Windows Transitions, Setting the Parallels Video Configuration to 'Best for Retina' fixes the flicker problem on the Retina Mac Book Pro, not ideal for me however as I lose a lot of screen area, but I can work with it until we get a fix. Kind Regards KJ
