    Hi everyone,

Ever since upgrading to Windows 8.1 Professional (64-bit), Windows Explorer freezes repeatedly after the VM starts up. Indeed, as soon as I open a window when browsing my files/programs/etc, my VM freezes completely with the cursor turning into a rotating rainbow for a few seconds. Then the Explorer responds to a couple of clicks before freezing again... and again... and again... until I eventually force quit Parallels and launch it again and then everything works perfectly fine.

I'm not a tech so I really don't know where the problem is coming from. Parallels Tools are up-to-date and so is Windows. Besides, Windows 8 under Parallels 9 and Mavericks was working like a breeze. Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a solution for it?

I'm seeing similar problems, but with Windows 7 and Parallels 9. Very annoying. Parallels 9 is almost unusable for me in its current state.

I have the same problem with PD9 running Windows 7 under Mavericks. I know it isn't Mavericks causing the problem, because it started when I tested PD9 under Mountain Lion. When I reverted back to PD7 under Mountain Lion the problem of Windows Explorer crashing ceased altogether, but of course I was 'forced' by Parallels to upgrade to PD9 if I wanted to run Mavericks on my Mac...

In my case it is not exclusively Windows Explorer that crashes, but also other Windows apps. Something called Watson Client is a frequent crasher.

But the good news, at least in my case, was that I found a workaround of sorts. I was using PD7 in coherence mode with MacLook applied, and so I naturally wanted to use PD9 in the same way. When all the Windows crashing started I discovered that they didn't crash if I left coherence mode, and they also didn't crash if I turned off MacLook when in coherence. As long as I don't apply MacLook when in coherence, the crashes do not occur.

This of course is not satisfactory, and I have opened a support ticket about it. The ticket is currently 'in the hands of the developers', and I've no idea where that will lead.

Windows Explorer on Vista crashing with PD9

I am new to this, but have been running Vista Business just fine until upgrading to PD9. Since then the Vm crashes repeatedly, Windows Explorer crashes, Word and Excel and other applications fail to open when in Coherence. Please PD do something about this, as it is v annoying to be unable to use a "productivity" app.
