After the last update in Parallels 8 I can no longer boot into Windows. It just stays at the "welcome" screen after entering my logon credentials and never boots to the desktop.

I can boot into safe mode and when I disable Parallels Tools I boot right up. I have uninstalled and re-installed PT and the result in always the same. After entering my logon credentials it just stays on the welcome screen and never boot into the desktop.

I have also tried completely uninstalling Parallels 8 and then reinstalling with the same results.

    Hi Eddie,

Try to remove Parallels Tools manually as described in this article - http://kb.parallels.com/8969 - and reinstall it. It should help.

You can start from "Uninstall, clean up & install Parallels Tools" section of the article.

I may have a different issue, but, once the system installs Parallels Tools, the next time I reboot, my system goes straight to Startup Repair and will no longer boot. I can not follow this article as a fix because I can't get back into Windows. I have used system restore points to try to get back and succeeded a couple times, each time trying to disable to Parallels Tools install before it happens to no avail.
