I have Parallels 6.0.11990 and have installed Windows 7 Professional N on it. When the virtual machine shuts down, it gets stuck on the shut down screen, where is actually says "Shutting Down..." with the spinning wheel thing frozen. It has happened twice now and I don't know what is causing it. To get out of it, I had to completely force quit Parallels and even restart the Mac. Any help?

I just had the same problem in Build 8.0.18608. The shutdown screen on a Windows 7 Pro VM was hung; spinning wheel frozen.

I was not in coherence mode.

I had to hit the power button on the Mac, which gave me my mouse cursor back, then I clicked on the Parallels VM on/off button (in the lower left corner of the machine). I got a pop-up that told me if I'd hit that same power button again, it would forcibly shut down the VM.

Once I did that, the VM shut down & I was able to start the VM again.

I haven't applied any new builds in the immediate past. I've flipped the Win7 machine in/out of coherence mode a few times. The only other recent change was migration of a Win 8 Pro machine that has sometimes been fired up at the same time as the Win7 VM.
