Windows 7 Taskbar in Coherence

    In Coherence mode I cannot hide the Windows taskbar. I found the Alt-left-click menu in the Mac menu bar, but the points View/Show Windows Taskbar, Show Desktop and Trash, and have no function.
    I would like the Windows system tray icons appear in the Mac menu bar and hide the Windows taskbar, as it was with Parallels Desktop 6. How do I change this?

    I'm having the same issue with the latest update: Build 7.0.14924. Was working fine previously. Now I only get the choice of "Show Windows Taskbar" which is disabled (the selection), which makes sense, since the task bar is already showing. There's no option to hide the task bar though.

    I don't have that problem but after the update I had to reinstall the updated version of Parallels Tools. Prior to that I could not even switch to coherence.

    Did you already try to update Parallels Tools? If so perhaps remove them, restart Windows and then reinstall them. That's helped me when I've had wacky problems like no sound or the wrong graphics "card" selected.

    Yup. Uninstalling and reinstalling (rebooting in between) Parallels Tools is the first thing I tried. No dice. Same issue. Actually, noticed that the dock icons for the Windows apps nolonger work either.

    I just switched from Fusion because of the annoyances I was having with it. Although Parallels is far from perfect, at least it was workable. With this latest update, the annoyance factor is increasing.

    Reinstalling an older version of Parallels did the trick for me.

    Still broken in 15050. Reinstalled 14920 again, last version that worked.

    Help desk is useless. Basically it's uninstall Parallels Tool and reinstall. Uninstall Parallels and reinstall. All of which I've done.

    Tried a complete uninstall of Parallels as shown in http://kb.parallels.com/en/112189 without any success.

    This is pretty darn annoying. Especially the hours that I keep wasting trying to install a new release, only to have to reinstall the old one again.

    I have same issue and agree it is annoying. Posting here in hopes I will be notified when fixed. running 7.0.15052

    Guys,

    To have it fixed you need to report it to Parallels Technical Support, provide Problem report ID (from Help menu > rReport a Problem) so that tech support can forward it to Product maintenance team and they can finally address the issue.

    Still Broken in 15054

    Still doesn't work in 15054.

    For the record, I have reported the issue. Three times. Each time I get a reply, it's the same thing, uninstall Parallel Tools, reinstall Parallel Tools. Complete remove Parallels. All of which I've done and waste a few hours each release doing so. All of which doesn't work.

    The latest laughable "solution" is to autohide the taskbar.

    Report ID is the report you send but it does not contain any of your contact information. Did you ever submit the support request at www.parallels.com/support/request ?

    Yes, actually, I've done it three times (after a new version comes out) and it's always the same thing:

    1) Uninstall/reinstall Parallels Tools.
    2) Uninstall/reinstall Parallels (http://kb.parallels.com/112189).
    3) Completely uninstall Parallels (http://kb.parallels.com/9087).

    All of which I tried before filing a ticket. I've never been offered any other help, besides being asked to do the above, so I don't bother anymore.
