    Hi everyone,
I'm new to Mac, and I searched through documentation but couldn't find the answer. After installing Windows 7 in Parallels, I have what appears to be a shortcut button to Windows 7 on my desktop (off to the right side of the screen). I tried to move it to the dock: it moves, but won't settle on the dock. I imagine this is only a short-cut button: it opens Parallels and takes me directly to Windows 7. Does it stay there permanently or am I missing something?

    Thanks in advance

If you only have Windows 7, Parallels can be set to initate Windows 7 when running Parallels automatically. So, if you want a shortcut of Parallels to always be available from your Mac's dock, then you will want to drag the Parallels app from the application folder into your dock instead. Once selected, Windows 7 should run.

Or if you have multiple virtual machines, you can have the list come up when running Parallels instead. If this is the case, you'll have a two step process to run Windows 7, but you get the choice up front.
