I'm having a problem with Parallels Desktop 6 build 11994 seizing up/freezing the entire machine (both the virtual machine and the Mac) when running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and Revit 2012 during a file opening operation.

    The machine is as follows:
    Mac Pro3,1
    2x3Ghz Quad Core
10GB RAM, with ~6GB allocated to the VM
nVidia 8800 GT 512MB video card with 256MB allocated to the VM
    64GB expanding hard drive

We are moving from Revit 2010 to Revit 2012. Our VMs at the moment consist of Windows XP 64-bit Pro running Revit 2010. The user is able to successfully convert the Revit 2010 file to 2012. It is upon opening the file that somewhere around 32%-43% the computer just slows down to the point that it looks like it is frozen, on both the Mac and Windows side. However, give it 30 seconds or so and I am able to see a mouse-click register on the screen. This doesn't help at all though, because soon enough, Windows itself is saying that the performance of the computer has dropped, and is offering to change the color scheme to Windows Basic or something like that. I try to click yes and it seems like now the interval between mouse-click registers is increasing to 1 minute and beyond. The only thing I can do now is wait for perhaps 5 minutes when trying to get the VM to shut down. I increased the RAM from 6GB to 10GB in hopes that it would help solve the problem, but that did nothing to change the situation.

Today I will be testing opening the file in Windows XP to isolate the problem. Right now there are too many variables but I will try to figure it out as soon as possible. Other areas might include:
