Hi All, I installed a Windows 2003 VM in Parallels RC. Everything ran fine except that I can't connect to the network. After trying to create a new network connection in 2003 without success, I went to the "Devices" section of the "Computer Management" console and noticed that two devices were marked as "troubled". Those were the ethernet interface and the PCI bridge. According to Windows 2003, there isn't an ethernet driver installed. Since I don't have access to the web from Parallels, it can't look for it either. Has anyone run into this issue? Has it been resolved? I'm using the "Airport Bridge" option for Parallels networking. Thanks in advance.
To expand on the problem, the OS finds new hardware when it reboots, namely, the ethernet controller and the PCI bridge, but it is unable to find the appropriate drivers and thus the new devices are left unconfigured. So the question would be: what type of driver do I need to provide Windows Server 2003 for the virtual ethernet controller and where do I find that driver?
Try the sticky thread: Parallels Desktop Networking FAQ and Troubleshooting Guide. The RC has a problem with airport and dhcp. You will need to configure the VM to use a static IP for now.
