I am new to virtual machines and am trying to install windows 2000 on one, my problem is when I go to windows updates after it is installed I keep getting the following message that parallels needs to shut down. Then when I go back in again and try to start windows there is an error message again and it wont start windows. Can anyone help? Thanks
Not enougth info to understand what's happen. Anyway - try to set Normal acceleration for VM when updating.
try booting up in safe mode... I remember some probelems with using windows updates on other Virtual Machine Software. They usually reccomend using update CD's as apposed to any online updates. Does windows 2000 have a restore last good know settings or system restore application??? Its that long ago since I used win2K I just can't remember. But anyway if it does use it.
I have problems with windows on-line updates too. I think the best way to do windows updates in virtual machines is downloading the full file - Network Installation http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/default.mspx
