Hi, Today, my Windows 10 Tech Preview was upgraded to the latest build (10049) and since the reboot I cannot access the network! Worked just fine before the upgrade... Also, there is a bit of a problem installing the Parallels Tools - seems to hang at 62% but eventually it pulls thru. Seems like the Parallels Ethernet adapter is installed but cannot find any network adapter in the control panel and thus no network/Internet connection. Anyone else with the same problem and/or workaround? Cheers, Stefan OS: Mac OSX 10.10.3 Parallels version: 10.2.0 (28956) Guest OS: Windows 10 Tech Preview Build 10049
Hi Stefan, Please uninstall Parallels Tools, reinstall manually as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/112609 and check if the issue still persisting.
Just a not if others are wondering: The update takes quite some time. Windows' update circle hangs at 2% for several minutes (at least for me it was the case). Just be patient...
The Parallels Tools installs after a while as I wrote in my original post - it just takes a looooong break at 62%! However, tried to uninstall, restart and install as described in the article above but with the same result. Parallels Tools installs just fine but no network connection (see uploaded images). Seems to be a problem related to Windows 10 and the latest build as I created this VM with a fresh installation with the Parallels Wizard and created a Windows 10 Tech Preview. After installation was done everything worked fine but after running Windows Update, with the selection "Choose how preview builds are installed" set to Fast to get the latest update, the network connection is lost. Anyone else tried this or could try to replicate the installation?
I've arrived at this post because I'm having the same issue. All I can add is that in my case, the long break at 62% leads to a Parallels Tools installation error, requiring a reboot of Windows within the VM.
Hi All, Please refer the KB article http://kb.parallels.com/112091 and assign RAM memory greater than or equal to 2GB & check how it works!
No, this does not resolve my problem with the missing network connection. Could it be related to this incorrectly functioning item in the Windows Device Manager?
My biggest problem is no keyboard. Device managers says Standard PS/2 Keyboard and the device has an exclamation. The other device with an exclamation is Parallels Mouse Synchronization Device. I have reinstalled Parallels Tools several times. The install of the OS and Parallels Tools went OK although the OS install was slow Parallels tools installed with no problems. I have network connectivity. I have received a couple of VM disk errors in windows 10 since I installed the first technical preview but a reboot fixed them. I have 5Gb of ram and also increased my disk size to 128GB and its only half full. OS: Mac OSX 10.10.3 (14D130a) Pre-Release Public Beta. Parallels version: 10.2.0 (28956) Guest OS: Windows 10 Tech Preview Build 10049
After expanding the memory to 5GB windows didn't work correctly and I have 12GB. Windows only showed the desktop and clicking on the start menu did nothing. I tried installing Parallels Tools but i stopped at 37%. I got tired of waiting and shut down the machine and set memory back to 4096GB. Restarted, uninstalled Parallels Tools, deleted the Parallels Tools folder in program files. The reinstalled the tools. The VM works great and is fast but still no keyboard. Good thing for onscreen keyboard so I can login.
