I've tried the KB articles, etc. and cannot find a solution to this problem.

In the Windows VM, most applications work correctly, but a few will display extremely small text and windows (illegible). I've set to "Best for Retina" and to "Scaled" in the Parallels configuration - neither has an impact. This is a new 2018 MacBook Pro and the Mac display is set to "Default for Display".

Hello Beermati, Let us ensure that Parallels Tools are properly installed. Please follow https://bit.ly/2N1mrkW to install Parallels Tools. If you see reinstall or update Parallels Tools then kindly reinstall it.

Hi AJ - thanks for the reply. I reinstalled parallel tools, using 'scenario 1', which seemed to work correctly. The problem persists, however.

Different articles specify different settings for the Parallels configuration - and none seem specific to version 14.
Is "Best for Retina" or "Scaled" preferred? And what resolution is recommended for the Windows 10 VM display?

I've had some problems with various apps since the install. Most work ok, but some are not usable.

What are the recommended settings/steps? The help/support articles are not clear for P14 and MAcBook Pro Retina.

Hi @Beermati , did you try changing the display settings inside Windows virtual machine?

Yes - that was my question, though - to what should they be set? One article says to use "Optimal for Retina" and another says "Scaled"

  9. Please set it to 'Scaled' and check if it works fine.

I appreciate your replies, but if you look at the first post in the thread, you can see I've tried both settings and neither works.

Ok - this helped me: https://forum.parallels.com/threads/parallels-desktop-13-for-mac-retina-with-windows-10.341737/

    In particular, the hint to:
Right-click on application icon, open Properties, select Compatibility tab, check "Override high DPI scaling behavior" and select scaling by System (enhanced).

My primary problem was a java app, so I found javaw.exe and set the above properties. I also set the Parallels graphics setting to 'best for external displays', as suggested in the post.
