win7 migration between virtual machines

I used the Parallels migration tool to transfer Windows 7 from my old laptop to my new iMac. Even though all my applications and documents are present and working, the system itself does not work well at all. I cannot connect to the internet, I cannot mount any external hard drives, I cannot boot windows from CD/DVD and other driver issues occur. I can't update the drivers that might be missing, since I can't connect to the internet. So, I have decided to install a second virtual machine and to migrate all data from the other one, including applications. It would be a real pain install all my applications again..

I have tried the Windows7 and Parallels migration tools but none do the job, or at least I can't seem to set them up the right way.

Any advice is much appreciated.
