    I think I mistakenly, or perhaps not, posted this to technical support. Any way here goes again. Perhaps someone has had a similar experience and can lend a hand.

    I'm trying to use Win XP with Fugawi moving map software which connects to my GPS via the serial port.

    No serial ports appear on the main Parallels screen and the reference in the 2.1 user guide on page 106 says that I need system previleges to do this. I don't know how to do this.

    I have written a GPS program in Realbasic that allows me to get GPS data from the serial port and it doesn't require any special previleges to run.:rolleyes:

    Perhaps someone could clue me in here on what I need to do and more importantly exactly how to do it.:)

    Thanks

    To use serial port in virtual machine you should go to configuration editor (Edit button on the main screen) and add "Serial" device.

    Hi Andrew;

    Thank you for the prompt reply. That did the trick.

    Love the product and will be ordering an official copy in the next day or two.

    Thanks again.
