My very first post on this forum! Hello all.

I am a newbie Intel-based iMac user and am very interested in using Parallels in order to connect 2 peripherals for which there are no OSX drivers available

    - a Epson scanner
    - a HP printer

    (both are USB 2.0)

There is a great amount of testimony on this forum about using Parallels to run Windows software ... could anyone give me feedback on their experience with Parallels to run USB 2.0 peripherals?

Specifically: how does a Mac application use a Windows peripheral under Parallels? Do I create file in, say, Photoshop for the Mac, then move the file into the Windows/Parallel environment to print it?

Would really welcome some real life non-technical testimony ... and general comments on the expereince of using Parallels to connect "Windows-only" peripherals to the Mac

    Thanks in advance!

just visit the makers websites and download and install the latest drivers in the usual way using WinXP

I have an state of the art HP scanner and a legacy Epson printer that has no drivers for Mac OS 10.4.9

and have not noticed any problems
I just checked the scanner in IrfanView in the usual way from the file menu
which is one of my favourite must have freebies
    http://www.irfanview.com/
    (a unversal spanner for graphics)

    I got an error box
and went to the Mac OS menu bar
PD >> Device >> USB >> HP Scanjet Scanner

    selected it
got a √ after a few seconds with the beach ball

back in the VM made a test scan :D

    do learn the parallels menus
    especially Devices
