basically my main computer is a windows 7 pc, my laptop is a new mac book air, i want to buy a logitech g710+ mechanical gaming keyboard, the keyboard will be used for gaming but also so i can type up my essays for college on as its a nice typing keyboard, so i want to know whether i can use the parallels software to run the keyboard as the keyboard (like most mechanical keyboards out at the moment) is not compatible with mac OS but it is compatible with vista win 7 and win 8, and also if i was to say buy microsoft office for mac would i be able to use it on the windows partition? im not quite sure how the file sharing works regarding that and i dont know how much space this is going to take as i only have a 120gb hard drive with 53gb left over after 2 days of use :/ thank you for your time and i hope you can help!!
If the keyboard has a USB connection it can connect directly to Windows (it will not be available in OS X), and as such work natively. Office for mac license does not entitle you to use Office for Windows on the same machine, you'll have to get a separate license for that.
ok so to sum it up, with the software i can use the keyboard on windows natively but not on mac (of course) and i would then need seperate licences for my mac and then the windows partition, could you help me regarding the size of the software? my hard drive is only 128gb in size (so thats 120 useable) and i only currently have 60gb free after 2 days of use, i want to know whether it will take up a large proportion (or if the size is adjustable) because i would only want to use windows for the microsoft office stuff when i use the keyboard so wouldnt need it especially large.
Takes as much free space as it would on a physical computer, the virtual drive is a file that expands its size as needed up to a pre set limit, so, if you have 10 gb of data on the windows virtual machine the file will be about the same size. You'll likely need about 20 Gb for the described setup.
