I upgraded to 4.0 and it destroyed access to my USB device. You told me that you know SUSPEND can make a USB device unavailable. I've tried two updates since build 3540 and neither one fix the problem. In fact, they made it worse. I had to uninstall PD and re-install 3540. How can I know when you have corrected the USB problems during SUSPEND and I can allow an update?
Hi, BDM, very time Parallels Desktop upgrade is ready, a special thread is created on this Forum describing the features added, problems solved and the issues remaining. See, for example: http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=32797
This is not encouraging. The note you reference claims that build 3810 improved USB performance, and it does not list the issue of USB problems after SUSPEND as a "known" issue. The update made my USB device fail completely and I had to back out of it.
USB Device not recognized. I'm having continual issues with USB device not working, the same way the OP described. Build 3810. After connecting the USB device, clicking on Connect the device to: Virtual Machine. Either it does not recognize the device, or about half the time causes a Kernel Panic and complete shutdown.
Well I finally got mine to work. NO USB issues so far. Reset the VM and plugged devices in, checked them in devices and they all appear. Jose schooled me on proper use of Windows....thanks.
I had previously used Parallels 3.0 and was able to use a specific USB device. I found it a little unwieldy but it worked. I purchased a new Mac Mini with double the memory and faster processor and upgraded to Parallels 4.0. The device is recognized by the application but when I try to use it I get a message that I have insufficient memory and the process quits. Can I increase the memory? What else can I do to resolve this? Thanks.
