I am currently running Parallels 7 on my Mac (Lion OS 10.7.5/Win 7). I want to upgrade to Maverick but I understand that I need to upgrade Parallels as v7 is not compatible. I just want to make sure that my current Parallels settings will be retained and that I don't have to completely reconfigure from scratch. I'm a PC guy at heart and not 100% comfortable with the Mac environment. If I need to reconfigure Parallels I might call someone to do it instead of taking the chance to mess things up. I still run a lot of Win7 apps.

What other advice do I need to know before I undertake this upgrade?

    Thanks!

    Hi RickMeister,

Please follow the steps below to resolve your query:

    1. Kindly take a back up of the Windows Virtual Machine: http://kb.parallels.com/8829
    2. Upgrade to Parallels Desktop 9 by following: http://kb.parallels.com/116989
    3. Then you can upgrade your Mac OS X to 10.9.

Please note that while upgrading Parallels Desktop from version 7 to 9, there would be no changes made to the settings on your Windows 7 Virtual Machine.

    Thanks,
    Looran
