I am running what appears to be "Parallels Desktop 1970" and I like it so far. I don't have too much loaded, but it is working for what I need. The only program that I will most likely add is Quickbooks. I am currently running the FREE TRIAL version and I want to purchase. I am not a computer geek by any stretch of the imagination, so much of what is discussed here goes right over my head. When I purchase, what version will I get, and is if possible, is it worth upgrading to the newer versions?

I only ask because in much of what I have read, I have seen comments about "wanting to go back to 1970". I assume they meant this version and not the days of disco, Jimmy Carter and leisure suits.

So, I am looking for a little direction here. What is my next step and what are my options? Thanks in advance.

The newer versions are still in beta. I would recommend against using them until they're officially released at which point, the check for updates in the Parallels Help menu will offer them to you.

So, if I purchase the software at this time, I will get the same version that I am currently using?

Affirmative. If all you're going to be using Wndows for is Quickbooks, then by all means stay with 1970, the latest retail version. You don't need the features in BETA, unless you want to use your Bootcamp partition, which it doesn't sound like you even have one.
