    Hi

I am considering buying a MacBook Pro JUST so I can buy Parallels and run XP at a decent speed compared to VPC.

Just trying to understand what size disk I would need to buy.

I will primarily only use Outlook, Office and IE.

Can anyone give me a feeling for the sizes of Disk partition they are using.

My VPC partition always starts at around 6.5Gb but is dynamic and grows to around 8Gb until I shrink it again.

    Any ideas?????????

    Partition size

I am using a 4GB virtual disk for XP. I have XP SP2 with Full Office Suite, VPN, and a few apps. I have about 600MB free. I have a separate virutal disk where I put my local PST files for Outlook.
I am sure I can free some space if I need to, but don't feel like it

I'm using an 8.25GB partition, specifically so I can burn a backup of the entire image onto a single (dual-layer) DVD even when it gets completely full. I figure once I get the bare dev tools install done it'll probably just *barely* fit on a single-layer DVD.

In VPC I have kept my Outlook .pst file on my Mac side accessible via shared folders.

Can I assume I will be able to do the same with Parallels or will I need to make room on my Parallels partition?

I have a separate disk for my .PST files. Works great!
