what is the "Parallels Service" in P4?

while running parallels 4, there's constantly an app / service running called "Parallels Service" chewing up the cpu and is constantly noted as "Not Responding"

every minute or so spindump starts up and monitors that process...

what is it?

it's not always "Parallels Service", sometimes it's "prl_vm_app" or sometimes it's "Parallels Desktop"..it just depends. of course spindump always starts up.
