Like many, I use Time Machine for backup. Like many, I have Parallels VM excluded from TM to save disk space and time. Does Parallels have an recommended practice for backing up Windows data (documents, etc) without backing up entire VM?

I posted this question about 2 years ago and the time the best answer was make a shared network connection from Windows to a folder on the Mac somewhere. This works but I found it difficult (in XP) - to force all applications to choose this folder as the default save location, so it was too easy for users to be lazy or forget to navigate to the Mac folder.

If Parallels has no recommendation, does anyone else? And is this recommendation any different for v3 than v4?

    Thanks in advance.

Please consider SmartGuard option of Parallels Desktop 4.0 (Configure -> SmartGuard tab). This feature is a snapshot manager able to create automatically incremental backups of your virtual machine (snapshots, incremental means that it backups only changed information, i.e. does not backup the entire volume each time). You can adjust intevals of taking snapshots and maximum number of snashots to keep
