Hello, i was wondering if anyone can help me. I am totally confused as to why im having such bad performance problems with Parallels / BootCamp 1.3 / Vista

I have a BootCamp 1.3 Partition on my iMac 24". It has a reasonable 2.16GHZ Dual Core 2 Processor. The usability of the system booting directly into the BootCamp partition is good. I wont site CPU usage or Windows Experience index numbers. It works as I would expect.

When i try to add the bootcamp partition as a virtual machine definition under parallels, it says "wait while partition is being prepared" and reboots into vista where i have tried to install parallels tools but it takes about 30 minutes to install. Anything i do takes a long time and basically im saying why bother. Its painfully slow!

I thought the process to using the boot camp partition under parallels was to create bootcamp partition, install windows under bootcamp, reboot into mac/os and define the parallels vm using the bootcamp partition. Or was I just suppose to create the boot camp partition and create the parallels vm and then install windows vista through parallels.

I just dont get why the performance is so bad....I am running Parallels V3 release 4128
