There are two Parallels processes, Parallels Workstation the gui and Parallels the not gui. Killing the second process does not seem to hurt anything. Why is it there?

Double clicking on a .pvs file launches another copy of Parallels. The second copy says it cannot open the .pvs file because it is in use. Why is a second copy launched?

There are over 100 windows registered with the mac window server. There is only one window on screen. Why are so many windows allocated and not used. The vast majority are modal dialogs.

Often, when launching Parallels for the first time after a system boot it reports that it cannot contact a driver. Launching it again usually works, so why does it not just try a second time?

When in full screen mode, you can activate other processes to get their windows on screen. It does not seem to slow down Parallels. Why bother blocking the other windows if there is no benefit? It would be nice to access the Dashboard even when in full screen.

Is there any way to get the video drivers from boot camp installed so that windows software can take advantage of the mac video card? Would that actually work?

    Thanks
    Eric

This would certainly not work, for the simple reason that these drivers (in fact - all video drivers today) are designed to have exclusive access to the graphic hardware, which of course cannot be granted.

This will only change when in the hopefully near future Graphic Processors (GPU) get something similar to VT-x and/or new video drivers are written specifically for virtualized environments which means that they are aware that they do not have exclusivity on the GPU and need to arbitrate with other video drivers running at the same time.
