I'm a brand new Parallels users as of this week. I successfully installed XP and tried the new beta on my MacPro 2 x 3ghz with 4 gigs of ram. Yesterday there was a power outage and Parallels was open at the time. After I powered back up Parallels would start but trying to Resume the VM COMPLETELY locks up the machine. Actually I can see the Mac clock still running but the mouse barely moves and I'm forced to do a hard reset of the Mac.

What should I do? Is there any way to reset the VM or run some sort of diagnostics? Should I re-install Parallels?

Have you tried re-booting the hard way, then re-booting softly, then run a cleaner (like Onyx) then soft re-boot as required by the cleaner?

That will flush things out and clean things up most of the time.
