Ok, so I had 125GB of space on my HD and a 23GB Windows XP VM. I deleted the VM in the VM List, and selected to delete all the files / move to trash (whatever the verbage is) as I've done 100x in the 3 years I've used Parallels. The deletion worked. I attempted to empty the trash and another file was in it that was currently in use and couldn't be deleted (a mounted dmg file from another program). The message popped up, I said ok and unmounted the dmg file before emptying the trash again.

Problem is... I still have 125GB of space on my HD available, so for some reason it didn't delete the VM. I look in documents/parallels and it's not there. Where can it be? If it's gone... why does MAC OS Lion still account for it being there? I should have 148GB available now.

Try to restart you mac and check again. You may search for '*.pvm' file via Spotlight - if you can find nothing - the machine has gone.

I would like to remove parallels/windows from my mac but I can't open it to uninstall after upgrading to Snow Leopard, were you successful by just moving it all into the trash?

In order to remove Windows virtual machine e- you just need to move PVM file into trash. In order to uninstall PD application - you need to download the Parallels Desktop build from our Website www.parallels.com and click Uninstall option

Thanks for the reply but can you give me the exact link to this "desktop build"? I'm not sure what and where to find that and I just looked..
