Vista Ultimate on Parallels 4124 I've managed to get the Windows Experience Index to run just once (before I enabled DirectX). It reported: Processor: 4.3 Memory: 3.9 Graphics: 1.0 Gaming Graphics: 1.0 Primary hard disk: 5.9 yay! maximum score! I enabled DirectX in an attempt to get better graphics performance but the WEI won't run. Sometimes it gets part-way through, mostly it quits before it gets to media playback. On at least one occasion, I saw this failure: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: winsat.exe Application Version: 6.0.6000.16386 Application Timestamp: 4549ae24 Fault Module Name: wined3d.dll Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 46680b5f Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 000049fa OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 6abb Additional Information 2: 4a6fedfa53861218c23add1f0d149e81 Additional Information 3: 1612 Additional Information 4: c90f77e91bb65cd7d42940f6a632dd78 Read our privacy statement: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=50163&clcid=0x0409 Bug in Parallels? Fact of life? Sean
kinda both... its caused by the fact that the DirectX implementation is older than the version Vista expects to find, I believe.
I saw in another thread that Aero support is not in 4124 but is coming in a later release which is good enough for me.
