I have installed Vista Ultimate on a XP Sp3 machine and I have selected the Bridged connection with the default adapter that the Parallel tools installed. My XP uses a wireless connection but my guest Vista will not connect to the internet. I have tried all types of choices like using my wireless instead of the Default Adapter, but still I cannot connect. Any suggestions?
Hello, muffinb. Did you try to use Shared networking? Does it work? Also please send us ipconfig /all from guest OS
I have no choice of shared network. Just my wireless adapter and Default adapter with the bridge. The is no choice of shared networking. This is versions 2.2 if that makes a difference. The ipconfig for the guest adapter was set to select automatically. If I changed anything I seemed to have a conflict.
I am having the exact problems as in the below thread. No matter what I try it either won't connect or I get the conflict message. http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=11020 I can set all of my ipconfigs to automatic or try setting static addresses and nothing works. I also have the exact opposite set up on another computer except I have Vista as the Host and XP as the guest and it works great. Wonder what the difference is.\?
Could you tell me the build number of that version? I would suggest to uninstall Parallels and install the latest build, check the following KB article for the link: http://kb.parallels.com/en/5079 Check if the Shared networking would be available after that.
I am using 2.2222. When I click on your link it says I can't see internal articles. So no help there. Is there another way to get to the kb?
I just noted that this is Parallels Workstation, sorry, 2222 is the latest build for it. We have created a ticket # 679425 for you, please, check your e-mail.
