Parallels 2.2 (build 2112) install on Windows XP SP2. Vista Business installs normally, only when it's at the point where it's completing the installation, it crashes with a Blue Screen blaming peauth.sys. Google doesn't return anything similar to this problem. I wondered if it was the hardware of the machine, so I tried the same on a server running Windows 2003 SBS with the same software build, and it crashes with exactly the same error message. The server was too overpowered for the standard installation of parallels so I had even turned off the hardware virtualisation support and turned Acceleration down to Normal. I set the memory to the maximum allowed of 796 (while the server has 4 GB of memory). After the install crashes it restarts, then passes the CD boot point and then switches to the configuration screen of parallels. The only option then is to redo the entire installation again after which it crashes again. I've done the installation of both machines for a total of 4 times already with different configurations, etc. however none of it seems to work. Because it's always the same BSOD with the peauth.sys message it'm figuring it's not a hardware problem as it tried it on totally different systems with different OS'es, so I'm guessing it has to do with the configurations I have set for the Virtual Machines. Anybody have any suggestions to getting Vista to run or maybe somebody has encountered the same problem?
