Hi, this might sound ridiculous... I've been using paralles OSX intel since beta 1, now in beta 3, same problem still. Windows XP sp2 guest, also just installed a windows 98 SE guest to try something different. No matter what guest OS I try I can only go to google.com, google.ca, mail.google.com, etc. Certificates aren't the problem, IE presented all of the certificate warnings ok in win98 and worked flawlessly in XP when logging into my secure gmail. BUT, I can't view any other websites. obviously on my host osx 10.4.5 I can view all websites fine or I wouldn't be bothering people with this, but it seems to be Parallels specific. Q (kju qemu) can browse any websites in an xp guest, why not parallels?

by the way, when experiencing the problem IE shows "website found" in the bottom status bar but just sits there trying to get the web page, flying MS flag animation and all, never ever downloads any actual data. Seems like it might be something to do with networking setup but I've experimented to no avail (I'm not a genius at netoworking at all but am a web developer so I know at least the basics more or less).

PS - I'm using dhcp in parallels, my intel mac is on a home dhcp network on a linksys router, this machine is wired (for speed and reliability). I've tried setting up xp guest using a static ip, same problem exists. I've seen no errors in the dhcp tcp configuration, and ipconfig shows the same data it does on my real xp box (except different ip assigned by dhcp obviously).

    Cheers,
    dkelley

    google and nyt here ;)

    what he said. ;)

i'm not new at the troubleshooting game, but have been unable in the few hours using parallels to break out of google sites, and the occasional New York Times page. will search around for more direct contact with a parallels employee.

can not contact my router either!

if this is happening to you, or you were able to figure out the problem and resolve it. POST.

as soon as windows loaded for the first time, i knew i was going to buy this. so get this problem solved for me, and a sale will be made!

edit, there are sites that i can reach (through googlenews ;), when i find a site i an access, it is possible to navigate through that site at regular speed. bookmarking works.

    solution found

thanks to velayo for this easy fix. :)

Had the same problem. fix it using drtcp in windows and manual config in linux.

Basically you have to change your mtu to 1400. In drtcp just select the box for mtu and enter 1400, press ok and then restart your computer your network will work fine.

There is a guide for debian on how to change in linux (the guide works for other distros too)."

    worked like a charm. :)
