I have seen this question asked back in 2010 by Graham but cant find any replies.
I run Parallels 5 on my Imac & use it for my Sage Accounts & Payroll, 1st installed in 2010 & has run with no problems at all..Today when i tried to open Parallels a small black box appeared with the words Windows 7 in it with a question mark. I clicked on this box & a message said "The virtual machine is unavailable--- The virtual machine's files have been moved or deleted. If the files are on an external device ,reconnect the device. You can also remove the virtual machine from the list or manually locate the files" When i click on locate a box titled Parallels opens but there are no files in it. Does anyone have any idea what i can do? I really need yo get it sorted as i have just installed an external drive to set up Time Machine ( i should have done this a long time ago ) to take all of my backups before i upgrade my OSX

    Hi Steve,
If you see a Question mark on virtual machine or if you get the following error when trying to start your virtual machine:
The virtual machine \"%1\" is not available anymore.
The virtual machine \"%1\" is not available (%2).
The virtual machine is not available. The virtual machine's files have been moved or deleted. If the files are on an external device, reconnect the device. You can also remove the virtual machine from the list or manually locate its files.

Please follow the steps suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/10109 to resolve the issue.
