V5 Windows XP sp2 and 64 bit apps

    Do 64 bit apps run in 64 bit mode when using regular XP so2 (32 bit)?

    Should I upgrade to XP 64 bit, Vista or Windows 7? Based on the problems noted in this forum, V6 doesn't seem like a good option right now. Either way, ,I'd need to know if I needed a 64 bit OS to take full advantage of 64 bit apps.
