After upgrading from 3188 to v3 (4124) my VM no longer has a CD-DVD-ROM device. It is not showing under the devices menu. I have rebooted, repaired permissions on HD, reinstalled and still get the following error on starting the WinXP VM image. "There is no CD/DVD-ROM drive in the virtual machine. The virtual machine configuration should have at least one CD/DVD-ROM defined in order to install Parallels Tools. Please shutdown the virtual machine, add CD/DVD-ROM to the configuration, then boot guest operating system and select Install Parallels Tools menu item once again." Does anybody have any recommendations to get this running under 4124?
Just checked under configuration and noticed that the CD was not enabled. When checking enabled I get: "Please check your configuration! CD/DVD-ROM 1 image file disk1.hdd could not be found. Do you want to continue anyway?" I proceeded. And then when prompted with the message again under XP, I selected the Device menu, and chose to Connect to Default CD/DVD-ROM. All is restored. Apologies for post with answering own question, but hope it helps anyone else who finds this disabled upon upgrade.
