Host: OS-X 10.5.5 Guest: XP SP3 installed in Bootcamp partition Parallels 3 installed and using the Bootcamp partition I can either boot up in XP or have it running on the Mac desktop using Parallels (I've been using Parallels with Coherence mode since that is so awesome.) Everything is working great (getting there was not easy, but it's done now) I just took a first look at the shared folders on my xp desktop and realized that they are showing me my Mac user environment and making that accessible from xp. Up till now, I had been getting things into the xp world by using Finder, selecting [C] Bootcamp under the Devices section in the upper left, and then browsing down to the My Documents folder (or some other place) to put files I wanted in xp. Actually, I'd like to keep doing it that way since that only requires me to deal with each file one time in putting it exactly where I want it, as opposed to putting it in my Mac environment from the Mac side, and then using xp to move it from there to where I really want it. But I'm wondering whether I'm running some risk of messing things up if I continue doing what I've been doing, or if I'm accessing places that I shouldn't be. (Sorry if some of this terminology doesn't sound exactly right - I've been a Mac user for 4 whole days now)
It is safe , just do not forget where you are and do not delete files you think arein another place or duplicate, for some info please refer to Parallels Desktop for Mac user guide from http://www.parallels.com/en/download/file/doc/Parallels_Desktop_for_Mac_User_Guide.pdf on pages 173, 207
