usb has always been a problem, not just for Parallels, but for any VM its a fight to see who gets control first, the Guest or the Host. Various VM's overcome this is certain ways. I dunno about VMWare, but within Parallels changing the USB properties of the VM, to "Connect as Guest" can often help. But in all cases these do not solve the problem entirely. Its a hit n miss. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, regardless of this drop down box set as. Is Parallels on top of this & how are they implementing a fix? assuming it "can" be fixed. What is the source of the problem? I also have a problem, when Guest Os is attached to usb device, (ie external drive), and its active in the VM (for example, running an AV through the files on it) , my MacBook Pro's fan goes nuts, in some cases, causes MacBook pro to reboot. Is this first bit normal? More cpu or intense over usb ?
