    Parallels tools puts a USB icon (among others) on the bottom right corner of the XP VM panel. I have a question about what to do with that Icon. I know that if I click on a listed device it will connect to it (if it's supported). My questions are;
    1.) Once you connect to a USB device in the VM does it disappear from OS X or can both OS X and the XP VM use it concurrently? If not, when I am done with a device in the VM, if I uncheck it does it immediately go back to being available to OS X?
    2.) Once a device is checked to connect, does that selection survive through power downs/ups of the VM?
    3.) Do I need to select all of the USB devices in the list to use them? .e.g. The trackpad is not selected, however it works. Here's my list;

    Apple Internal Keyboard / Trackpad
    HL - 5170DN (Laser Printer)
    ActionStar KVMS
    USB Receiver (for a mouse)
    USB Receiver (for a keyboard)
    Epson Scanner
    IR Receiver
    Apple Wireless
    Built-in iSight

    4.)Since my external keyboard/mouse, internal keyboard/trackpad, and KVM all work without selecting anything, my assumption is that I only need to select those USB devices to connect that do not do so by default. Is this correct?

    5.)Why do some devices connect by default and not others?

    I am just trying to understand this tool. It is not intiuitive ;)
    Thanks.
