Now I know this has been mentioned various times in the forum, and I have the same problem. Basically, I cannot see any USB devices under Parallels on my MacBook - in particular I cannot see memory sticks. I have just installed a second copy of Parallels I just bought on a Mac Mini and that has the identical problem so it makes me think I am just doing something wrong. My question is this - does anyone on this forum have this working i.e. they can see a USB memory stick with Windows Explorer under Parallels ? Tony
I can see my memory stick on XP. Some things to try... 1) Verify that you are on Build 3188 2) If not, download it and install it. 3) Uninstall Parallels Tools (using Windows add/remove programs. Then reboot the VM. Then reinstall Parallels Tools using the ACTIONS drop down menu in Parallels. 4) Verify that the USB driver is installed on your VM. 5) Set autoconnect USB to off in the Parallels DEVICES/USB menu 6) In the Parallels DEVICES/USB menu, note which USB devices are available, and which are checked. 7) Now, plug in your memory stick to a USB port. It should show up on your MAC desktop. 8) Now, in the Parallels DEVICES/USB menu, see if the memory stick is now listed as a device. Click on it to place a check mark next to it. You should here an audible sound, and you should see the icon for the memory stick dissapear from your Mac desktop as it is attached to the XP machine. 9) Now you should see the memory stick when you click on MY COMPUTER in XP. Hope this helps...l
Thanks for all that. However, I tried it and still no joy. I thought it was working because it appeared in the Parallels list of devices and when I checked it, it disappeared from Finder. But it did not appear in Windows. It's no big deal because I can always drag and drop from Finder. I will wait for Version 3.0 and hopefully it will all come out in the wash. Tony
